As a reflection of my Jamaican roots, I wanted to use ingredients that represented the wonderful flavors and ingredients that are commonly used in products from my island.
The idyllic countryside of Black River, St. Elizabeth, known as the ‘bread basket of Jamaica,’ was my father’s home as a child. I spent many summers on our family farm in Black River and was influenced by my grandmother, a matriarch who cooked with only the freshest ingredients grown in her backyard, mixed with a huge dose of love. Using the simplest but tastiest ingredients, she taught me that eating healthy didn’t mean having to sacrifice flavor.
This was the foundation for my interest and passion in food and the creation of COCOMOS. I will always continue to explore and create healthy and scrumptious foods and I hope that you will enjoy the fruits of my endeavor.
